Yamaha R2 Launched at Rs 2.3 lakhs | Weighs Only 149 Kgs, Gets 204cc Liquid Cooled Engine

Yamaha entered a new chapter in India Today by launching the all new Yamaha YZF R2 motorcycle in India starting at a price of Rs 2,30,500 ( Ex-showroom, Delhi). Yamaha’s R series is quite a hit in India and the world, especially their R15 series – R15’s legacy is now renewed with the introduction of all new Yamaha R2 aka Yamaha YZF R2.

New Yamaha R2 is powered by a liquid cooled 204 cc engine with a whooping power output of 26.5 PS and a peak torque of 19.1 Nm. The new Yamaha R2 is available for sale immediately in India – available in 3 variants and 5 color options. The 3 variants of Yamaha R2 includes the standard YZF R2, the YZF-R2 with Quick Shifter and YZF-R2 M (Gets most advanced cutting edge features in R2 series)

The all new Yamaha R2 series offers a very stylish motorcycle portfolio with vibrant color options listed above. The top of the line Yamaha R2 M is priced at Rs 2,53,000 and is exclusively available in Metallic Gray color option. The Yamaha R2 with Quick Shifter is available in Matte White Pearl and Racing Blue color option where as the standard Yamaha R2 is launched in Metallic Black and Dark Bluish Gray color.

Yamaha YZF-R2 (Standard)

• Powered by a newly developed 204cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 26.5 PS and 19.1 Nm of peak torque.
• Built on an all-new lightweight high-tensile steel tube diamond frame, resulting in a segment-leading 149 kg kerb weight.
• Equipped with standard safety and rider-assist tech, including a Traction Control System (TCS), dual-channel ABS, and an Assist & Slipper Clutch.
• Features a suspension setup comprising 37 mm upside-down (USD) front forks and a rear monoshock.
• Includes a 5-inch full-colour TFT display and Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) with Street, Sport, and Rain selectable riding modes.

Yamaha YZF-R2 Quick Shifter

• Carries over all the core performance features, electronics, and the 204cc engine from the standard base variant.
• Introduces a segment-first 3rd generation bi-directional Quick Shifter for seamless, clutchless gear shifting.
• Replaces the standard black wheels with body-coloured alloy wheels.
• Enhances the visual appeal with model-specific graphics and premium material finishes.

Yamaha YZF-R2 M

• Includes the 3rd generation bi-directional Quick Shifter and all standard electronics.
• Upgrades the hardware with fully adjustable front forks, rear shockers, clutch lever, and brake lever for highly personalized riding dynamics.
• Adds modern convenience with a Smart Key System for seamless keyless operation.
• Features high-end aesthetic touches inspired by the flagship R1, such as a faux suede-finished seat, a silver-finished swingarm, and a shot-blasted muffler end cap.
• Topped off with a premium 3D embossed emblem to highlight its flagship status in the R2 lineup.
